Every year, Govt. of Sindh directly issues grants to the public sector universities of the province through its Universities and Boards Department. But this year, first time after 9 years of its establishment, this function has been delegated to Sindh Higher Education Commission to diligently work on this matter and distribute funds among the public sector universities of the province. On the recommendation of the Committee constituted for the preparation of grants / funds distribution formula, Sindh HEC requested the Competent Authority, the CM Sindh, to increase the annual grants of the universities so that these institutes of higher education and learning may overcome the financial crisis and continue focusing on education and research instead of thinking about the ways to evade crisis. Honourable CM Sindh was pleased to approve the recommendations of Sindh HEC and increased the annual funding / grant of universities for FY 2022-23.
