- Finance department Govt. of Sindh used to allocate Rs. 50 Million under the head of account ‘Sindh Research Support Program’ in the budget of Sindh HEC for many years but it has never been released / utilized.
- Sindh HEC has initiated Sindh Research Support Program in 2020.
- On the recommendation of Finance Committee and with the approval of Commission an advertisement was got published in the leading newspapers. Research proposals were invited from the faculty members of all Public sector universities.
- The received proposals went through the process of scrutiny, review, evaluation and selection by the Technical expert committee.
- The commission approved the matter and award letter along with the specimen contract were sent to the Principal Investigators of the Projects.
- The Commission secretariat has received all the contract agreements from the Principal Investigators and now the awardees universities of the approved proposals (total 26 in number) have been given the the first installment of the approved grant on 8th April 2021 in CM Secretariat. The Total allocation of the grant is Rs. 45.7 Million.
